FFA students in the United School District had a very successful year, with some even getting the opportunity to experience farming methods in Ireland, explains Superintendent Tom Hawkins:
“Corrine Wascher, who is one of our Ag Teachers and FFA Advisors, gave a year in review. Our kids were really successful this year and she talked about how we have even integrated ag exploratory classes in the seventh and eighth grades, which we have a lot of kids taking ag at United. Also, they took a trip to Ireland with some of the students. The kids got to tour Ireland and also see different agricultural methods from across the pond. Corrine also brought one of our students, Evan Jenks, who came in and helped present.”
Additionally, Superintendent Hawkins informs the United Board of Education has approved Kepple Health Insurance, who is out of Peoria, as the new provider for the district this next year.
