Story by Parker Cassidy

The United Red Storm girls basketball program has been hard at work this summer, following a historic and record-breaking season this past winter. While the team isn’t participating in many summer leagues or games, that hasn’t slowed their momentum. Head Coach Chris Olson and his staff have kept the players focused with a full schedule of summer workouts. The program is hosting regular weight sessions and open gyms, often drawing between 40 to 45 multi-sports female athletes in attendance. Coach Olson is grateful for the fantastic season the Red Storm had over the winter, but wants to see the girls continue to build on that success.

The United Red Storm finished last season with an impressive 28-5 record, with all five losses coming against two strong ball clubs in Wethersfield and Abingdon-Avon. This year’s team will have a new look, as the Red Storm graduated eight seniors, seven of whom played in all 33 games last season.
