The TRIO Student Support Services grant at Carl Sandburg College has been renewed for another five-year cycle. Vice President of Student Development Autumn Scott shares what that means for students:
“That is a grant that is issued through the Department of Education and over the course of the next five years, it amounts for $1.3 million that goes to support students who are first-generation and income-eligible to participate in that program. It is a fantastic program, and it is really designed to be wrap around support for students who come to Sandburg and then want to transfer onto a four-year school.”
Students at Sandburg have been able to take advantage of the TRIO Student Support Services program since 1997.
