The Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois is teaming up with Illinois State Representative Dan Swanson and other local organizations to host two scam seminars. Amber Ruggles, with Farmers State Bank, shares the details:
“It is going to be September 10th from 11 am to noonish. The doors will open at 10:30 am. It is going to be at the Alexis Community Center, and we are really just here to raise awareness and bring knowledge to everyone on these horrible scams that are going around and have been for quite some time. We really just want to encourage everyone to come. We did this last year in the Alpha area and had a wonderful turnout. I really think people will benefit from the knowledge that you will receive that day, as far as how to prevent these scams and what to do if you are scammed. There is a lot of information out there for you to gather that day.”
Prior to the scam seminar taking place at the Alexis Community Center at 11 am, that same seminar will be presented at the Warren County History Museum in Monmouth beginning at 9 am on September 10th.
