The United Way of Greater Warren County and the United Way of Knox County will officially merge in about a month, forming a stronger, unified organization serving four total counties. Jeanie Webber, Executive Director, shares the new name and more.
“We’ll be changing our name to United Way of West Central Illinois in a month. We have Warren County, Knox County, Henderson and Mercer County now. We look very forward to taking advantage of the amazing opportunity that we’re going to have here to raise money, and to support the nonprofits that do the work on the ground and continue to dream for the communities that we’re serving.”
Anthony Law, Associate Director of Student Engagement and Leadership at Carl Sandburg College and incoming board member for the new United Way of West Central Illinois, talks about the impact of the merger.
“Those of you that have questions about the merger, here’s the over the top answer, I like to give. An opportunity to serve more people, and that’s basically it. We’re going to do what we’ve always done, but take it to the next level, because we’ve got great leadership, we’ve got a combination of boards, we’ve got a region that is phenomenal for so many ways, and we’ve got people out there doing the work.”
