Vincent K. Raymond, 77, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on February 25, 1948 in Macomb, IL, the son of Richard L. “Barney” and Marilyn G. (Wetzel) Raymond.  He was raised in Larchland, where he attended local schools and graduated from Warren High School in 1966. Vince continued his education at Black Hawk East College in Kewanee, earning an Associate’s Degree in Agricultural Business in 1969.

On December 17, 1967, Vince married the love of his life, Sharon Gaskill, at the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth. Their devoted marriage spanned 57 years, and Sharon survives him.

In 1970, Vince was drafted into the United States Army, where he served honorably as a Corpsman, with assignments in both Texas and Germany.

Following his military service, Vince returned home and began farming with his father-in-law, George Gaskill Jr., and brother-in-law, Gary Gaskill on the family farm. He also worked alongside him at Gaskill Electric. Vince was a lifelong farmer and cattleman, passionate about raising registered Angus cattle. He took great pride in breeding and raising his livestock, and his dedication to agriculture was evident in every aspect of his life.  Vince was a past member of the Lions Club in Little York. Vince was known for his wonderful sense of humor; he loved to tell jokes and share a good laugh with those around him. One of his favorite pastimes was stopping by the Yorkwood Twomey elevator, where he enjoyed catching up with his fellow farmers, swapping stories, and staying connected with his community.  Vince served on the Yorkwood School board for several years.  He was baptized at the First Lutheran Church in Monmouth, and previously attended the Zion Lutheran Church and Faith Bible Church in Oquawka.

Surviving Vince is his wife, Sharon L. Raymond of Monmouth, IL; his son, Troy Matthew Raymond of rural Monmouth, IL; his daughter, Heather Lynn (Roger) Hauri of Peoria, IL; his grandchildren, Riley (Tawny) Raymond Painter, Regan Raymond, Isabella Hauri, Olivia Hauri, Elijah Hauri and Francesca Hauri.  Also surviving is his brother, Tim Raymond; his sister, Vickie (Dave) Lloyd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-Law, George & Betty Gaskill; one son, Thomas Alan Raymond; two grandchildren, Kayley Raymond and Drew Matthew Raymond; brother-in-law, Gary Gaskill; sisters-in-law, Thrina Gaskill and Jackie Raymond.

Vince’s family would like to extend special thanks to his niece, Andrea Trego, for all the care, love, help and support she gave Vince over the last month.

A Gathering of Family & Friends will be announced at a later date.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Vincent Raymond Memorial Fund to help those in need and can be sent to the funeral home .  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
