Susan A. Luken, 68, of Galesburg, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, following a short illness.
She was born April 10, 1957, in Galesburg, the daughter of Dick and Betty Morris. She married Robin E. Luken on June 2, 1979.
She is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Robin; two sons, Robert John Luken of Peoria and Eric James (Jen) Luken of Schaumburg; siblings, Duane (Cindy) Morris of Pinckney, Michigan, Mary (Nick) Watson of Momence, and Nancy (Ray) Budde of Galesburg; a sister-in-law, Rose Morris of Monmouth; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Morris.
She worked as a teller at First Midwest Bank for 24 years before retiring. Sue enjoyed reading, especially on the patio. She donated her eyes to someone in need. She liked to watch her garden grow, always looking for butterflies and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed evenings relaxing around the firepit listening to music. Travel was important to Sue as she loved experiencing different countries and cultures.
Sue loved her sons, cousins, and extended family. She enjoyed planning and hosting family get-togethers. Sue was a beautiful, loving, and kind person. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Budde’s Pizza and Spirits, 425 E. Main St. in Galesburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities or the Knox County Child Advocacy Center.
