Two days of magic are back in Monmouth for the 6th Annual Great Nicola Magic Festival at the Warren County History Museum. Friday, September 26th is the After Dark event for those 21 years and older from 6 to 8 pm. Saturday, September the 27th, is Family Day at the museum from noon to 7 pm. Konstanze Fowler shares this years performers:
“Our After Dark Magician is Luis Carreon. He is an award-winning magician and a mentalist. For the children’s show on Family Day we have KooKoo the Cartoon Magician. For the matinee we have Christian Manahl, he is a comedian and a magician. Mark Presley for the grand finale, he is a professional magician, he is doing our grand illusion. Then, we of course have TJ Regul, the Quad Cities Magician, and Stu Yegar from Avon doing our strolling magic.”
There will also be pieces of magic history on display during the Great Nicola Magic Festival, explains Executive Director Eugene Watkins:
“We had a gentlemen who lives out in Kansas who contacted us, he apparently is a relative of Nicola through Dr. Camp, who was Nicola’s personal physician. He is going to come to the event, but he also is going to donate to us his entire collection of Nicola letters and because of his connection to the family, he ended up with Charles Nicola’s, which was the Great Nicola’s brother, he was also a magician; but this gentlemen ended up with Charles’ ventriloquist dummy that he used throughout his world tours named Jimmy. So, he is bringing Jimmy to put on an exhibit this year and sounds like he may be planning to donate it permanently to the museum.”
