It is Warren County Prime Beef Festival week and this Friday, September 5th is the 33rd annual Farmers Breakfast at the Monmouth American Legion, where Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau President Jake Armstrong will provide a policy update:
“We are going to be talking about Illinois Farm Bureau policy and how that impacts legislative policy and just do a political recap. This year I get the honor of serving on the Resolutions Committee for the Illinois Farm Bureau, so I get to be a part of the screening, filtering, and promoting resolution policy. We are just going to go through what it takes to make a policy in the Illinois Farm Bureau book and how that actually impacts legislation. What we do in December at the annual meeting is important. It does impact Illinois law, and we are just going to highlight that and some of the successes that we have had as an organization with our resolutions and policy book.”
West Central FS Certified Agronomist Brendan Marshall will also be providing an agronomy update, prior to hearing from keynote speaker Jim Anderson with North and Company, followed by a legislative update with State Representatives Dan Swanson and Norine Hammond and State Senators Mike Halpin and Neil Anderson.
The 33rd annual Farmers Breakfast can be heard live on AM 1330/FM 95.7 WRAM and online at radiomonmouth.com beginning at 7:30 am Friday morning.
