The Buchanan Center for the Arts will celebrate the Day of the Dead, the Hispanic traditional celebration of life to honor loved ones, this Saturday, November 1st, shares Executive Director Ann Tenold:

“We have a new board member Lydia Chavez Rogers and community leader Corima Rodriguez that are spearheading the program about Dias de los Muertos at the Buchanan Center, which is open to everyone. Right now, there is an ofrenda at the Buchanan. The window to the right is the Dia de los Muertos window. When you first walk in, where the gift store usually is, we moved the gift store out, and Lydia and Corima made the most beautiful ofrenda. It is three levels, and it is absolutely gorgeous. That will be central to the evening events on November 1st. We will have traditional food and drinks and music. That event is free to anyone, and everyone is welcome to come.”

The Day of the Dead celebration will take place from 4 to 6 pm this Saturday at the Buchanan Center for the Arts in Downtown Monmouth.
