Story by Parker Cassidy
The Monmouth-Roseville Titans ended the regular season at home last Friday, hosting a strong Sterling Newman Central Catholic squad on their senior night. The Titans left no doubt in this one, rolling to a 40-7 win. Monmouth-Roseville finishes the season with an 8-1 record for the second consecutive year.
Now the focus shifts to playoff football, as Monmouth Roseville’s win last Friday secured them home-field advantage for the first round. The Titans, who are the 5th seed in class 3A North bracket, will match up with the 12th seeded Manteno Panthers, who finished the regular season 6-3. The two teams share no common opponents, making this one a bit of a mystery matchup for both sides.
Head Coach Jeremy Adolphson shares some keys to getting a first-round victory on Saturday.
The Titans will be at Sunny Lane this Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on Sunny 97.7 and online at radiomonmouth.com, with pregame coverage starting at 4:30.
