No Injuries During Garage Fire in Macomb

At 5:39 PM, Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, the Macomb Fire Department was dispatched for a report of smoke in a garage at 825 Orchard Dr. Units arrived on scene at 5:46 PM and found smoke coming from the garage and eaves of the house. Units made entry into the garage and found a couch engulfed in flames. The couch was extinguished, and units began ventilation and searching for any extension. The fire had extended into the eaves of the garage. The fire was deemed under control at 6:00 PM. Five firefighters initially responded with an Engine and Ladder. Two Fire Chiefs and 5 off-duty firefighters were called in to assist at the fire and provide coverage for any additional emergencies. Fire investigators processed the scene and cleared at 7:19 PM.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.

The garage sustained fire, smoke, and water damage and has an estimated loss of $52,000. The home sustained smoke damage throughout.

The fire cause was determined to be improperly discarded smoking materials.

No working smoke alarms were found at the scene.
