Whisker Wash, the self-serve dog wash is now open in the City of Monmouth. Owner Sean Stevens shares how the idea for the business came to be:

“I was looking on social media one night and I follow a gentlemen, who is down in Southern Illinois, he walked in and his old farm dog jumps up into this machine, he washes him down, while he is videoing this whole thing, and then out the door he went. I thought ‘how easy can that be.’ So, I started researching and Julie Clark and I, we started looking at more and more of this. She came up with the Whisker Wash name and over time, we just started looking around. We found some property, built the building. The building is solely for this machine and for people’s privacy to come in and wash their dog,” states Stevens.

“There is only one family allowed at a time, so we don’t have any distractions with other animals in there. We do have rules up on the wall that we try to abide by, but it was just a fun project to get started. Julie and I have had a lot of research and a lot of time to see how this would go and we wanted to bring this to the community,” adds Stevens.

Whisker Wash is located at 501 North 11th Street in Monmouth and is open daily from 7 am to 8 pm.
