During the harvest season, West Central FFA members hosted a Fuel the Farmers event delivering over 250 meals to local farmers, shares chapter president Jackson Spence.
“We took it out to the fields, to the farmers, or we had them come pick them up. That was a great turnout for our first year doing that,” says Spence. “We had a pulled pork sandwich in that and chips and cookies, and we had our elementary students decorate baggies the whole week that we gave to them.”
The meal donation was made possible through donations from Smithfield Foods and chapter Alumni.
