Warren County is moving forward with adding new aerial mapping information to its website. County Board Chairman Mike Pearson says the county recently completed updated aerial photography and mapping, and the next step is making that information accessible to the public.

“We asked for professional services from Sidwell. Basically, we have new mapping of the county, aerial mapping, and we need to put that on our website. That’s something the government decided we needed to do. We’ve already paid for photographs, but to get it on the website has a cost. The first year is about 13,055 dollars, and then a little over 4,000 dollars each year after that to keep it there.”

County officials say the updated aerial mapping has already identified more than 100 structures that were built without permits.
