In the near future, e-citation tickets for ordinance or state-level violations will be given by the Monmouth Police Department, reports Communications Director Ken Helms:
“What this means is, if somebody gets either an ordinance or state-level ticket in Monmouth, they can actually just pay it completely online. It is paperless to an extent as far as on the judicial system. They will get a receipt and where to pay it and what the ordinance is in violation for. That lets the officers print it right there in their cars, makes it a lot easier for offenders to pay for it.”
Helms informs the implementation of the e-citations is a mandate by the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Offenders will have seven days from the issuance of the e-citation to pay online.
