The roots run deep with the Knox County Nursing Home. The current property was first purchased in 1856 and has undergone a few expansions and renovations through the years to be what the facility is today, a mid-century modern design with a dining hall in the middle and four wings built off it for both short-term and long-term residents, explains Director of Social Services Kevin Godsil:

“Short-term care is for someone who just needs to go somewhere and get some intensive rehab therapy where they might not be able to do that with traditional home health services at home because they don’t have the equipment at home. With short-term care they come in, and we all work towards their goals, which is to get stronger, get safe enough to go home upon discharge, and getting them connected with home health services, making sure they have a successful discharge,” states Godsil.

“Long-term care is for someone who might not be safe at their home, or they may have exceeded the ability to go to an assistive or supportive living, they need just a little bit more care than those facilities can provide. We can provide 24/7 care for anybody. We are very well staffed to accommodate anybody’s needs,” Godsil adds.

The Knox County Nursing Home is located at 800 North Market Street in Knoxville, Illinois.
