Beyond the clinical services provided at Bridgeway, vocational, business, and life skills are also offered for persons with disabilities through the Affirmative Business Services. Vice President of Affirmative Business, Tammy Diefendorf, explains the opportunities that help people gain independence and achieve their goals:

“We do have data entry centers in four of our locations. Most of our contracts with the data entry centers are through the state, so we have state used contracts and work with the state of Illinois. We provide data entry services and transcription services for the state. We also provide janitorial services. Then the third wheel of what we do in our Affirmative side is our work centers. Our work centers probably provide the most vocational training where we are teaching vocational training skills to people with disabilities. We are teaching packaging skills, maybe using equipment, or learning how to do different skills that might help them out in the community. We also then move those people into another program that we have with community employment. We do overlap all of our services and work with each other to get those services provided.”

Employment through the Affirmative Business Services with Bridgeway are offered in Galesburg, Kewanee, Monmouth, the Greater Rockford Area, Macomb, Pekin, and Bloomington.
