The second phase of the lead service line replacement in the City of Monmouth will move forward as City Council has accepted a bid for the project, informs Mayor Rod Davies:

“Our engineering firm Woodard and Curran reviewed all the bids submissions and reported out that the lowest bid was submitted by Advanced Plumbing and Mechanical of Monmouth. That was a bid of $441,420. Council did approve awarding that lead service line replacement project to Advanced Plumbing,” Davies states.

“We have our State Revolving Loan Program that is helping us with funding. A portion of that is forgivable, at least at present. Then the balance that isn’t forgiven, it has to be paid back at a very low interest rate of about one and a half percent over 40 years. So, it makes the payments more manageable,” adds Davies.

Mayor Davies reports the search for securing funding opportunities will continue as the lead service line replacement projects advances forward.
