Morath Looking Forward to Pancake Day

Share

Bruce Morath, President of the Monmouth Evening Lions Club, discussed their upcoming Pancake Day fundraiser this Saturday. He invites everyone to come by the VFW this Saturday morning from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. to enjoy pancakes, bacon, coffee, milk, and orange juice for only $5.00. He talked about where the proceeds from the fundraiser will be going.

“Our key thing is trying to help people with eyeglasses and hearing aids. We don’t necessarily pay for them all in full, but we give a pretty large donation towards that, so that helps out a lot of people that are especially struggling financially,” Morath stated.

Morath is one of 27 members in the Club. They are in the midst of their 82nd year of existence. From helping with disaster relief after the Cameron tornado to assisting with the Backpack Program for schools, the Lions Club is here to serve the community. Morath encourages anyone that would like to join the club to reach out.

“It’s a very beneficial club to be a part of. We definitely welcome more and more members, especially younger members. We have several places where we could use their expertise and their service,” he said.
