Mrs. Henrietta “Hank” P. Stone, 92, of Galesburg, Illinois died 6:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Woodridge Assisted Living Center, Galesburg. 

She was born January 8, 1927 in Quincy, Illinois to Henry and Annette (Fink) Plawer.  She married Arthur Stone, December of 1945 in Quincy, Illinois.  

Surviving are four sons, Jeff L. (and Donna) Stone of Surprise, Arizona; Jay L. (and Cindy) Stone of Savannah, Georgia; Robert A. (and Bonnie) Stone of Woodstock, Georgia; Kevin B. (and Julie) Stone of Galesburg, two daughters, Catherine A. (and Roy) Finley of Toledo, Ohio and Mary J. (and John) Stephenson of Galesburg, a sister, Ene Ira of Omaha, Nebraska, eight grandchildren, Scott (and Lynn) Stone, Amy (and Philip) Matthews, Stacey (and Jeremy) McKenzie, Eric (and Gavi) Stone, Jessie (and David) Gutlay, Lucy Stone, Micah Stone, and Kyle Stone; ten great grandchildren, J.J., Skylar, Isabel, Hayleigh, Garrett, Benjamin, Dylan, Ayden, Lucas, and Cullen and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Trudy L. Stone in 1983, a granddaughter, Stephanie Stone in 2009, a brother, Ralph Plawer and a sister Jacobi Schnelle. 

Henrietta worked as a receptionist at the Galesburg Clinic for 13 years (1978 to 1991) and then a babysitter to many children from 1991 to 2004.  Henrietta was a homemaker and raised and reared her seven children with great pride and joy.  She spent many days and evenings on the bleachers watching her children play sports throughout the years.  She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and Tiger Woods.  Henrietta was the “rock” of the family and immensely enjoyed having her large family all together.  They enjoyed many trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina where they could all be together for a week. Henrietta also enjoyed traveling to her children’s hometowns where she could visit and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In her spare time she enjoyed reading and playing cards with the children and grandkids. 

Cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at the chapel.  Rev. Vince Rohn will officiate.  Cremation burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery following the memorial service.  Memorials may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind in New York or First United Methodist Church, Galesburg.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
