Mr. David L. Bradford, 77, of Galesburg died Friday, November 15, 2019 while surrounded by loved ones at Heartland Home Healthcare Center.

David was born November 14, 1942 in Galesburg to William and Shirley (Morse) Bradford. He married Pamela S. Gladfelter in Galesburg on August 24, 1968. She preceded in him death March 4, 2003.

He is survived by his children Darren L. (David Plazas) Bradford of Nashville, Tennessee and Melanie D. (Christian) Clem of Colo, Iowa, his significant other of 16 years Billie Norvelle whom he had shared his home with in Galesburg and her children Kelly Kimmitt of Galesburg and Melanie Price of Peoria. Also surviving is one grandson Marshall Clem, one sister Judy C. (Ned) Norris of California, and all of his favorite nieces and nephews—you know who you are! He will be missed as “Papa Dave” by Stormie, Kamen, Clayton, Kelsey, Shawna, Savannah, Jude and Thalia.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pamela, one brother Billy Jo Bradford, and his son-in-law Dave Johnston.

David was raised in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1962. He then completed technical school for the Telephone Company. David worked as a technician for the former General Telephone Company, now Frontier for 41 and a half years before retiring in 2006. He also served for the ROTC Army National Guard. David was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at the chapel. Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be donated to OSF Hospice. Online condolences may be given at www.h-p-w.com.
