Miss Shamyra Ka-Shay Barber, 21 short years, passed away at 3:36 am Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

She was born May 2, 1998 in Chicago, the daughter of Dorothy Barber and DeVarn Triplett, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Dorothy and DaVarn; her son, A’Mere Jeremiah Da’Shawn James; five sisters, Shamere Kimble and Da’Shay Burnett both of Galesburg, Voneka Triplett of Chicago; Tyeisha Hawkins of Wisconsin and Deborha Paige of Galesburg; her brother, DeVarn Triplett III of Wisconsin; her grandparents, Jean Barber and Willie Sharp both of Chicago and DeVarn Triplett, Sr.; her friend, Mark Massey of Galesburg; six nieces, ten nephews and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She is joined in heaven with her brother, Damenion Burnett; Grandmother, Diane Triplett, Great Grandma Mamie Barber and her Uncle James Barber.

Myra had an outgoing personality and gorgeous spirit, she was known as a “Social Butterfly” amongst her friends and family. Her talent for social interaction made her a first-rate friend to have and even helped her pursue her goals. Myra loved producing videos on TikTok and had dreams of being a famous YouTube influence, in hopes to buy her mama a new home. She was a lady of faith, rather than having membership in one congregation, Myra enjoyed visiting many different churches and experiencing many ways to celebrate the Lord.

Due to social distancing limitations related to the COVID-19 pandemic, friends and family may pay their respects with restrictions, from Noon-5:00 pm Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremations Service Galesburg Chapel. Private services will be held Thursday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Dorothy Barber, to establish a fund for her son, A’Mere James.
