Shirley Ann Sprinkle, 68, of Galesburg, died at 3:20 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Shirley was born on January 26, 1952 at home near Galesburg, the daughter of Leslie A. and Betty Mae (Cooley) Wall, Sr. She married Thomas L. Hatfield, Sr. She later married Duane A. Sprinkle on October 4, 1991 in Galesburg. He survives as do her four children, Everett Stevens and Thomas L. Hatfield, Jr. both of Galesburg, Phebe (step-son, Brian) Sprinkle and Shirley (Larry) Estes both of Galesburg; two additional step sons, Steven and Daniel Sprinkle both of Galesburg; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by one brother, Leslie A. Wall, Jr. of Arkansas; and a sister, Frankie Knott of East Galesburg. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
Shirley graduated with a cosmetology degree from Carl Sandburg College. Shirley worked for 15 plus years as the kitchen manager at East Main St. Hy-Vee in Galesburg, retiring in 2014. She loved being with her family especially her grandchildren. Shirley and Duane enjoyed spending time together fishing, taking roads trips, and going on vacations. She also enjoyed going to the casinos. Shirley’s favorite time of year was Christmas. She spent many months preparing and loved to have her family at her house. She was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg. Pastor Darrell Grimm will officiate.
