Monmouth-Roseville and United Wrestling Programs Excited About Future of Programs

The Monmouth-Roseville and United High School wrestling programs were both in action at Monmouth-Roseville High School on Thursday night. Both squads sport very young teams, with more wrestlers in the freshman and sophmore classes than the upper grades.

The United Red Storm wrestling program is in its 3rd year of existence. Logan Thiele has been the head coach of the Red Storm since its inception. Thiele says wrestling success is no different than any high school sport, he’s trying to create excitement in the youth program to build the varsity.

Instead of building, the Monmouth-Roseville is trying to re-build their program. They have a new man in charge of the Titan grapplers. Long-time junior high wrestling coach, Travis Henry, has taken over the high school program. Like Thiele, Henry is also trying to create excitement in the Titan wrestling program, including a great experience for fans and wrestlers alike at home meets.

The Monmouth-Roseville wrestling team’s next match is next Wednesday at Sherrard High School vs. the Sherrard Tigers and the Morrison Mustangs. The only home match left on the Titan’s schedule is January 17th, which will also be Senior Night.

United also get back on the mat on the 8th with a road match at Peoria Heights. The Red Storm will host their first home in program history on January 26th
