United Red Storm 8th Grade Boys Basketball Falls One Game Short of Sectional Berth

The United Red Storm 8th grade boys basketball fell in the title game of the Class 3A IESA regional on Tuesday night to Farmington 46-41. In a battle of the top two seeds United played a very good Farmington team all the way to the final buzzer. The two teams battled to a 12-12 tie after one with Ian Leffler leading the way with 5 early points. Leffler added 8 more in the second and Nolan Jemks chipped in 4 as the Red Storm held a 27-25 halftime lead. Farmington would retake the lead in the third as their defense held United to just 6 points in the third and 8 in the fourth while the offense scored 22 and the Farmers grabbed the trophy. Scoring for United was Ian Leffler with 19 followed by Nolan Jenks with 9, Kelton Ryan 8 and Chance Stewart with 5.
