Red Storm Boys Advance in Regional Play with Win Over Galva

The United Red Storm boys opened regional play on Saturday with a 65-27 victory over Galva on their home floor. The Red Storm came out and played solid basketball in the first quarter as Abel Wilson scored 7 and Cormaic Flynn 6 to pace a 22-6 lead after one. United used their full court pressure to force the Wildcats in to numerous turnovers and the Red Storm would carry a 34-13 lead into the locker room. The Red Storm used their pressure and solid passing in the second half and would gradually pull away for the victory. Leading the way for United was Abel Wilson with 19 points while Cormaic Flynn had 10 points and 7 rebounds. AJ Jenks and Hunter Hall each had 9 points , Aiden Parkins added 5 points and 6 rebounds, Jack Jungman had 4 points while Colin Jenks added 4, Andrew Olson 3 and Nolan Leffler 2. The Red Storm now advance and will play in the Kewanee Weathersfield Regional on Wednesday night against the winner of Rowva and Stark County beginning at 6:00pm.
