Stars, Stripes, and Community Pride Celebrated with Annual Flag Giveaway at American Family Insurance Agent Carol Shaw

For the third consecutive year, American Family Insurance Agent Carol Shaw is teaming up with the Monmouth American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries in giving away United States Flags this Friday, June 28th. Shaw expresses this all came together out of spite and has since been a growing community event:

“I wanted to do a community service and I was trying to think of a unique thing to do. One morning I was going around the Public Square and I saw the flags waving and I thought ‘wow that is really pretty and we need more people flying the flag.’ I reached out to Annette [Manthai] and she helped me figure out where to get the flags and so three years ago we started and gave away 25 flags and the second year we gave away 25 flags. This year we are giving away 50 flags to anyone who would like to fly a flag at their home or business. They don’t have to be an American Family customer; they just have to be someone who wants to fly the flag proudly.”

The United States Flag Giveaway will begin at 10 am this Friday out front of American Family Insurance, 702 North Main Street in Monmouth.
