With the abrupt closure of the company ‘Save This Life Microchips,’ pet owners that have their pets chipped through this company will no longer have their contact information connected to that pet and microchip should that pet become lost. Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer informs the microchips can be re-registered:

“People that may have those microchips in their animals, no information will be given for that microchip now. I don’t know if anyone knows specifically what microchip they have in their pet, but if you do have one of those, or you may, give Public Service Officer Josh Strong a call at the police department and he can scan the chip, or scan your pet to see if that is the chip that your pet has. If it is, you can re-register that microchip with a different company; PetLink/DataMars, which is www.petlink.net; HomeAgain, that is www.homeagain.com; and AKC Reunite at www.akcreunite.org.”

If anyone is concerned their pet could be microchipped with a ‘Save This Life Microchip,’ contact Public Service Officer Josh Strong at the Monmouth Police Department by calling 309-734-8383.
