Monmouth's SID Nolan Talks MC Sports

Monmouth College’s academic and athletic calendars each start this week. With the College welcoming back their students, that means Fighting Scots athletics are back and ready to start competing once again.

Women’s Tennis and Golf both have events starting this weekend. Monmouth’s Sports Information Director Dan Nolan talked about those upcoming events.

“Tennis will be on the road Saturday at Millikin. They will play Millikin and Illinois Tech. Women’s Golf will be playing at Augustana (on Saturday), and I think it’s just us and Augie. On Sunday, we host Augie for Women’s Golf,” Nolan said.

Nolan also discussed the recent filling of a coaching position at the College for Men’s Lacrosse. The Scots hired Chris Klaiber, a former Division-I goalie at Mount St. Mary’s University in Maryland, and most recently a Division-II assistant at Adams State University.

Aside from athletic achievements, Nolan hopes that Monmouth’s athletes can continue to impress in the classroom.

“Over the summer, we had a host of student-athletes and teams named to All-Academic teams and Academic All-Americans, so it was a pretty successful school year and academics were right at the forefront,” Nolan said.
