National Water Dance Looking for Participants

Share

National Water Dance is an organization that uses dance as a vehicle for social change. The organization’s primary objective is to stimulate awareness for water conservation through performance. Knox College will be one of over 100 locations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Puerto Rico that will participate in the 2018 nationwide simultaneous event on Apr. 14. Elizabeth Varner with Galesburg Parks and Recreation details how you can get involved in the movement:

“The performance is in April, but they’re doing an open call for anyone, children and adults, to come out and have the opportunity to be in this National Water Dance. They can call Knox College at 341-7827 for information,” she said.

Tonight’s open call will be from 7 to 8 p.m. at Knox College. Those interested will be taught how to dance in a movement choir style, which engages both the audience and participants to take action.

Again, for more information, call 341-7827.
