April’s Teacher of the Month is Kelly Menge of United High School. Menge previously taught at Moline before making the move to United about six years ago. Principal Amy Schmitz is happy she did.
“She lived in our district and drove to Moline every year and had inquired about a position. We are fortunate to land an experienced teacher. She’s just one of those science people who brings science to life,” she said.
Menge teaches biology and physical science at the high school, along with coaching the WYSE team. The addition of Menge to the staff fits a popular theme for United: bringing in quality people.
“I think that’s one of the reasons why our high school has a great reputation across the board – academics and extra-curricular activities. It’s because our people step up. They love our kids, and it shows,” Schmitz stated.
Congratulations to Mrs. Menge on this impressive achievement! This award is brought to you by MTC Communications, McDonald’s, and the Regional Office of Education.
