The 2018 Henderson County Fair Queen Pageant was held Sunday night at the Raritan Opera House. Three new queens were crowned: Kenzley Winters took home the title of Little Miss; Lexi Kane earned Junior Miss honors; and Kaitlyn Kane captured the Miss Henderson County Pageant Queen title.
Kenzley is a six-year old who will attend West Central Elementary School in the fall. She is the daughter of Shanna and Travis Winters of Raritan. Lexi is 11 years old and will be entering 7th grade next year. Lexi is the daughter of Amanda and Brian Kane of Stronghurst.
As for the new Queen of Henderson County, Kaitlyn Kane, she talked about what she’s looking forward to most this week at the Fair:
“This week I’m looking forward to the livestock shows. Coming from a 4-H student and an ag student, I know how much hours those students put into their fair projects, and the fair is their time to exhibit all their hard work throughout the year. I know how much hard work they put into it, so it’s great for them to see and really accomplish something within the livestock shows,” she said.
Kaitlyn graduated from Monmouth-Roseville in 2017 and just completed her freshman year at Southeastern Community College in Burlington. Upon completion of her sophomore year at SCC, Kaitlyn plans to attend Western Illinois University, majoring in either Ag Education or Pre-Veterinarian Science. She is the daughter of Kimberly and Jim Kane of Smithshire.
Congratulations to Kenzley, Lexi, Kaitlyn, and all the contestants in this year’s 2018 Henderson County Fair Queen Pageant!
