20 Years Later, Monmouth Cruise Night Still Going Strong

Share

The 20th Annual Monmouth Cruise Night presented by Maple City Street Machines will take over the streets of Monmouth this Friday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Over 25,000 people are expected attend the event to see over 3,500 cars.

Maple City Street Machines is a local group consisting of 16 car enthusiasts that was founded in 1986. Shortly after their founding, Monmouth Cruise Night was started in 1988. Kim Gough with Maple City Street Machines knows the importance of this event to not only himself, but car lovers everywhere.

“It’s the best day in Monmouth if you’re a car guy, and we’ve been a part of it from the beginning. Pretty proud to be that way,” he said.

The Street Machines group is always looking to add members. Anyone is eligible to join; you just have to love cars. A 1970 Ford Mustang will be the special car on display at this year’s show.

Monmouth Police have requested that those planning to attend do not bring their pets, bikes, or skateboards.
