Kara Jade-Gordon, Monmouth College Women’s Soccer

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Monmouth’s Kara-Jade Gordon (Nashville, Tenn./University School) has earned the season’s first Midwest Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Performer of the Week award after a mutli-goal weekend.

Gordon opened the season on the right foot, literally, scoring three goals and an assist as Monmouth opened their season with a pair of wins, the Scots’ first 2-0 start since 2007. The junior forward notched her first goal of the season in Friday’s 8-0 blanking of Blackburn and had a hand in all three goals in Monmouth’s 3-0 shutout of Simpson on Sunday. Gordon assisted on Sunday’s first goal and then added an insurance goal in the 33rd minute before netting the final goal just two minutes into the second half. Through the first two games, Gordon is putting nearly 75 percent of her shots on goal.
