Knox College Football Partners with Blessings in a Backpack

GALESBURG, Illinois—The Knox College football team is partnering with Blessings in a Backpack for the upcoming football game against Monmouth College on Saturday, November 3.
Knox College’s Blessings in a Backpack organization is currently feeding 430 Galesburg elementary students very weekend. Included in the food the kids receive is Chicken Noodle Soup. Collection of cans of soup and cash will take place at the gates of Knosher Field on the Knox Campus starting at noon this Saturday for the annual Knox/Monmouth Football Rivalry. If you can’t attend the game and would like to donate soup, respond to joestes@knox.edu or dltomeo@knox.edu and a Blessings volunteer or football player will come pick up your soup. If you want to donate cash, every dollar = two cans of soup. 1 case of soup costs $12; 3 cases are $36. That would feed a child for a year on the weekends! It is our goal to collect 10,000 cans of soup!
