Kent E. Reighard, age 59, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away Friday June 7, 2019 at his home.  He was born August 23, 1959 in Burlington, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Edith Middleton Reighard.  In 1980, he married Susan Jones.  She preceded him in death on December 21, 2000.  On July 17, 2017, he married Suzanne Jones-Butler.  She survives.

Kent was a graduate of Mediapolis High School and Southeastern Community College.  He owned and operated Wyatt’s Body & Frame in Burlington for many years.  He served as a Boy Scout Leader for many years, and enjoyed gardening, setting up the annual Christmas lights and decorations, and was an avid drag racing fan. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Suzanne, mother, Edith Reighard of Burlington, IA, three daughters, Kim (Dave) Thompson and Krystal (Clint) McGaughey, both of Stronghurst, Jacinda (Zach) Hill of Media, IL, one son, Justin (Callie) Reighard of Raritan, IL, nine grandchildren, Morgan, Julian, Kaleb, Colie, Conner, Jaxson, Jenna, Caden, and Xander, one brother, Kory Reighard and one sister, Karla Andries, both of Burlington, three sisters in law, Sharon Jones, Michelle McMichael, and Christine Griffith, and many nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday June 13, 2019 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of his grandchildren.  Please visit banksandbeals.com to sign the guest book and leave a condolence.
