Five different construction projects for United School District are nearing completion, according to Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt.
Roofing projects for the old gym and wood shop at the high school are scheduled to be completed by next Friday. A new bus ramp is planned to be completed “within a week”, and HVAC work for the west campus is on pace to be completed by August 2.
Whitsitt says the Summer has been busy.
“It’s kind of been a whirlwind summer. I’ve been working with five different contractors, which means five different construction meetings and five different pay schedules. But overall, I really cannot complain; we’ve had very few issues that have popped up throughout the process and the contractors have all been great to work with…. They’ve just done an outstanding job.”
The 2019-20 school year starts August 21.
