Galesburg Police Chief Search

The City of Galesburg continues to progress through the selection process for the next Police Chief, which was initiated in May, when Police Chief David Christensen announced his upcoming retirement. From June through July 8, the City accepted resumes for the position, as well as opened a community survey for citizens to share their priorities for the next Chief of Police.

As the application period has concluded, the City is reviewing applications received from both internal and external candidates. Finalists for the position will participate in assessment center testing, as well as interviews with the selection committee, city council, and a community panel.

The members of the community panel, which will interview the finalists and provide feedback to city administration, include: Robert Fulton, Brittany Grimes, Tom Simkins, Ken Springer, Dr. Teresa Amott, Dr. John Asplund, Christine King, Sara Robison, and Mike Ingles.

City Administration anticipates the selection of the next Chief of Police will be finalized and announced during August.
