Mrs. Marian L. DeWitt, 83, of Abingdon, Illinois formerly of Galesburg died at 4:05 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born August 4, 1936 in Avon, Illinois the daughter of Maurice and Anna Louise McGowan Enlow. She married Jay D. DeWitt in Galesburg November 28, 1958. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1996.

She is survived by her children, Peggy DeWitt of Abingdon, Teresa DeWitt of Knoxville, Illinois, Lori Guel of Galesburg, Vicki DeWitt of Macomb, Illinois and Michael DeWitt of Abingdon; her sister, Margaret Farmer of Granite City, Illinois; eight grandchildren, April Jo Weaver, Jessica Jiles, Ashley (Kenneth Davis) Robinson, Christine Robinson, Desiree (Courtney Duckwiler) Blanken, Lindsay Lamb, Brandon DeWitt and Travis DeWitt; two additional grandchildren, Micheal Wilson and Shelby Pacheco and ten great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Deborah Weaver and her brother, Robert Enlow.

Marian had worked for Bellscott, Kmart, Walmart and most recently the Rite Track Café. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1954 and attended Illinois Community College. Marian was an avid Cub fan and enjoyed listening to Elvis; but her favorite past time was spending time with all her family.

Celebration of Marian’s Life will be held, 5:00-8:00 pm Sunday, September 1, 2019 from at The Kensington, 311 East Simmons Street, Galesburg Illinois. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
