Marianne Hillier, 86, of Galesburg, died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2019 at home with her family by her side.

Marianne was born April 21, 1933 in Wapello, IA the daughter of Arthur Zola and Genevieve Mae (Yarrington) Kremer.  She married William Hillier, Sr. on June 22, 1950 in Rock Island.  He preceded her in death on April 26, 2010.  Marianne is survived by two sons, Bill (Tish) Hillier, Jr. of Oneida and Tom (Charlene) Hillier of Knoxville; two daughters, Anne (Tim) Dowers and Vicki (Lindsey) May both of Galesburg; a daughter in law, Leslie Hillier of Fairview; along with 24 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.  Also surviving is a sister, Muriel (Bob) Headley of Chatham; and two brothers in law, George (Sandy) Hillier of Galesburg and Mick Hillier of New Port Richey, FL.  Marianne is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Along with her parents and husband, Marianne was preceded in death by one son Tab Hillier; two brothers; and one sister. 

Marianne worked at OMC Gale Products, then Admiral for several years.  Marianne and Bill owned and operated 4L Plaza Laundromat for 16 years.  She faithfully attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Galesburg.  Marianne enjoyed being outdoors and going to the Lake of the Ozarks.  She also loved dancing, singing, socializing, being around friends, and watching the Chicago Bears.  Most of all, Marianne loved to be with her family and attending all her family’s events. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory, Galesburg, Chaplain Jordan Knight will officiate.  Cremation rites will be accorded following services.  Graveside burial of cremated remains will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
