School Physical and Vaccination Deadlines are Approaching

The Warren County Department of Public Health stresses the importance of getting your children in for physicals, vaccines, and dental exams.

With the school year incoming, many students are required to get physicals, vaccines, and dental exams, and according to Jennifer Link, Director of the Warren County Department of Public Health, the earlier, the better.

Children can qualify with a medical card, or under their parents’ insurance.

Physical exams in the area are required for children enrolling in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and incoming high school Freshmen.

Dental exams are required only for Kindergarteners, 2nd graders, and 6th graders.

Jennifer Link went on to talk about why scheduling physicals at the last minute can be hard…

“You know, this time of year we’re getting a lot of parents calling in last minute to try and schedule those exams, and obviously school started this week. So, our hygienist for our exams for back to school is scheduled out through November, so you’re not going to get one any time soon unless something drops off the schedule. We do keep a call list, and we will call people in if something changes.”
