In a recent survey, the Warren County Public Health Department has identified West Nile positive mosquito numbers are dropping in the Warren County area.

The survey was taken in June of 2019, and numbers show that West Nile positive mosquitoes are dropping, and will be gone by first frost.

Jennifer Link, Director of the Warren County Health Department, explained this year’s West Nile mosquito population…

“Typically, we usually see that every year. It’s usually towards the end of the summer, and we found that right away in June, we had positives. A lot of that can be attributed to the wet Spring. We had a lot of standing water around, and mosquito populations were a little more intense. Then as it kind of warmed up and dried up, we starting seeing those populations drop off.”
