The school district is offering an “Initial Bus Driver Training Course” at a $10 fee for those interested in becoming a bus driver for the local Monmouth-Roseville schools. To earn a bus driving license, applicants must be approved through a pre-employment interview, followed by a fingerprinting and medical screening. The applicant will then meet with the Regional Superintendent to receive initial training required by the Illinois State Board of Education.
To obtain a school bus driving permit, applicants must present 3 forms of identification, pay the appropriate fees, and provide a three-year driving history if they are a resident of Illinois.
Applicants must be 21 years of age, successfully complete a favorable physical within 90 days of application, and must pass an Illinois criminal background check.
With steady pay and a flexible schedule, bus drivers are in high demand in Warren county and much of the state of Illinois.
