More building upgrades are on the way for United School District, according to United Superintendent Jeff Whitsitt.

The school district plans to replace the roof at the United Junior High, intercom and phone systems, security door locks, and fire detection systems.

Whitsitt shares how the district will pay for the upgrades.

“We issued some life safety bonds in the neighborhood of six million dollars last January to do a lot of this work and, again, we did a lot of this work this past summer but we still have a lot of it to get done.”

Whitsitt also says that the school board is working with an architect to complete the projects.
