Monmouth College is hosting the first annual Pink Pumpkin Race in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The 5K run or walk starts on Saturday, October 4 at eight am in front of the Huff Athletic Center. There are currently 80 participants in the 5K. The Blue Key Honor Society, Women in Business, and Sigma Phi Epsilon are hosting the events.
Assistant Professor of Political Economy and Commerce Shanna Bruer tells us where the proceeds of the Pink Pumpkin Race will go to:
“All proceeds of this race will be staying in Warren County to help support women who are suffering from breast cancer that might need some additional financial support.
Additionally, we’re using these resources to help educate women in the community about breast cancer and what they need to do in early stages or to help diagnose this illness.”
Individuals can register at givebutter.com/mcpinkpumpkinrace or can come to the Huff Athletic Center at 7:45 Saturday morning. Registration costs $20 and includes a T-shirt.
