Cheryl Anne Maner, 76, of Galesburg, died peacefully Sunday, October 27, 2019 at home with her family by her side.

Cheryl was born February 15, 1943 in Galesburg, the daughter of Maynard Max and Anastasia (Joseph) Ellison.  She graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1960.  Cheryl married Kenneth B. Maner on July 24, 1971 in Galesburg.  He survives.  Cheryl is also survived by one daughter, Julie Anne (Marty) Maner-Stevenson of Galesburg; and her beloved only granddaughter, Karma Maner-Stevenson.  Cheryl is also survived by two brothers, Maynard Ellison of Moline and Tim (Martie) Ellison of Galesburg; two sisters, Jane Allen and Susan (Jack) Carson both of Galesburg; and a dear friend, Rick Mitchell of Fulton, MO.  Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.

Cheryl worked as the primary building secretary at Costa Catholic School for over 25 years.  She truly loved spending her days surrounded by children.  She was a devout member of Corpus Christi Church, serving as an extraordinary minister and reader for many years.  Cheryl enjoyed making crafts, especially crocheting and painting.  She enjoyed having people over to her home and always made sure her guests had something to eat.  Cheryl had a loving heart and never met a stranger.  She also loved her dog, Buddie.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Watson Thomas Funeral Home and Crematory.  The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Father Jacob Rose officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Galesburg.  Memorials may be made to Costa Catholic Academy.  Online expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.watsonthomas.com
