Mr. Gale Weybright, 82, of Galesburg, Illinois died 10:32 a.m. Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Kindred Hospital, Peoria, Illinois.

He was born August 22, 1937 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Eber L. and Mildred Ellen (Sale) Weybright.  He married Mary Beck.  He later married Margaret (Armstrong) Arnold September 2, 1984 in Galesburg.  She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Karen K. (and Robert L.) Brumbaugh of Indiana and Ellen M. (and Larry D.) McConnell of Indiana; three step-sons, Jim Arnold of Nebraska, Jeff Arnold of Arizona, and Dave Arnold of Illinois; five grandchildren, Trisha (and Doug) Husen, Jeremy (and Heather) Friend, Jared (and Catherine) Oberley, Katelyn (and Cody) Gildner, and Kyle (and MyKenzie) Daniels; and three great grandchildren, Nikki Friend, Jesalene Lara, and Hayden Gildner.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Weybright.

Gale graduated from Larwill High School in Larwill, Indiana.  He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1965.  He was a farmer in Indiana and worked for the Indiana Farm Bureau Co Op.  He later was a truck driver for National Trucking Company and P.F.T.  He then was the terminal manager at Butler Manufacturing Company in Galesburg.  Gale had a great love for his family.  He always enjoyed their phone calls and visits.  He loved to watch NASCAR and western movies.  Reading was the next best pastime.  Farming was in his blood and always took note of how the crops were doing in the fields.  He enjoyed the Spoon River Tractor Club and was very proud of his John Deere Tractor that he restored.  After his years of farming, driving tractors, and truck driving he loved mowing his yard with his John Deere lawn mower.

As Gale requested, cremation will be accorded.  Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel.  A private committal service will be in Abingdon Cemetery with military Rites by the Harry E. Wiles American Legion Post 381 Honor Guard at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gale’s name to the Abingdon Historical Society, Guardian Angels Humane Society, or the National Kidney Foundation.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
