MONMOUTH, IL (11/25/2019) A milestone win helped Monmouth’s Will Carius (Bettendorf, Iowa/Pleasant Valley) pick up this week’s Midwest Conference Men’s Basketball Performer of the Week honor.

Carius posted his third straight double-double last week, helping Monmouth to their first 4-0 start since 1974. The senior forward pumped in 33 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in Friday’s 71-66 win over UW-Whitewater, the first Scots’ win over the Wisconsin squad in program history. A 4-for-4 free throw effort in the final 2:46 helped the Scots erase a nine-point deficit with 5:13 to play. Carius poured in another 22 points Sunday in a 78-56 win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering. For the week, Carius averaged team highs of 27.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, all while shooting 19-of-30 (.633) from the floor which included a 5-for-8 (.625) effort from 3-point range. He also posted a 12-for-13 (.923) performance from the free throw line.
