“As chairman of the Board of Directors of the Orpheum Theatre, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Erin Glasnovich has been unanimously selected as the new Executive Director of the Orpheum Theatre,” said Mark Blackburn. “Following an extensive search by the Committee, chaired by board member Chris Ashby, Erin’s name was brought to the recent Board meeting where a vote was taken and it was determined that Erin is the best qualified candidate.”
Erin has been with the Orpheum since 2012 and has served as Interim Director for the past eleven months. During her tenure at the theatre, Erin has led The Orpheum team to bring such programs as Throwback Thursdays, Orpheum Galas, The Orpheum After Dark Fright Film Fest, and more to the theatre. She has also successfully continued The Orpheum Theatre Presents, bringing professional acts to the stage; she has additionally continued Youth Entertainment Series (YES) program, reaching students, educators, and parents from throughout Knox County and beyond. Erin has also fostered support for The Orpheum Theatre through sponsorship and contributions from local businesses such as Innkeepers Coffee and Knox County Brewing Company. Erin begins her new position immediately with the full support of the Board, staff, cadre of volunteers, and patrons.
Erin is a Galesburg native and currently lives in town with her partner and two lovely daughters. She is well known in her community for years of active involvement in the theatre and music circles, notably at The Orpheum both in front of and on the stage. She has performed in numerous plays and musicals, and continues to be known for her acting and musical talents.
